You might have heard people saying a lot of times but never resonated but when I say this it’s true that this drama is fresh with a unique mentality of protagonist. The characters of this drama think actually like the young generation(who thinks self care is above all). The characters are very practical in life and very career oriented and actually love is not a priority for them but living their life is.
Yoon Ji ho 30 years old after defying her father wishes, goes to Seoul literature college as she wants to become a writer. His father thinks a girl should either become a lawyer or teacher. Even after struggling to write dramas which never took off Ji Ho is not able to earn enough money to get herself a home or atleast rent one so she becomes homeless when her brother gets married. On the other side there is Nam See Hee is 38 years old, he is house poor and is looking for a tenant that can pay off the mortgage with the rent. After having a series of odd roommates he meets Ji ho and after a series of mishaps and realizing she is a girl they decide to live together.
Ji ho is an ideal roommate according to See hee and See hee is giving Ji Ho a great house to live without deposit for which she is in desperate need of. See hee is a very different and unique character( for real) his thinking is very different from boys these days. Some might say he is weird.In this show the characters are very practical and they economically plan their own wedding for example bride borrow one time worn gown from her friend for the bridal shoot, groom wear his own suit not new, they set their wedding date on Monday not because of an auspiciousness but it’s cheaper on the weekdays, and they gladly draw a contract for their marriage without any drama and last but not the least there is no love involved whatsoever. It is a marriage of convenience without love but for comfort. They are not friends but landlord and Tennant who are comfortable living with each other. How can we forget the fact that Ji ho marries See hee for a house.

It took me a while to come to this drama despite its popularity. I had seen Lee Min Ki in Beauty Inside show, what I don’t like in him is he is expressionless and robotic but still somehow he is bearable. I have seen Jung So Min in Playful Kiss and I love that show but in this show she had very mature character in comparison to childish one in playful kiss where she did everything in her power to marry the love of her life.
There is no romance whatsoever between See Hee and Ji Ho, may be it will happen in future in future. I actually want to see what happens to both of them do they end up falling for each other or they get sick of this weird arrangement or fall for someone else. It will be interesting to see how they cope up with this contract marriage and what repercussions they will have to deal with. This drama is available on Netflix.
