Elfen Lied is one manga highly recommended by my 'guy pals'. At first, my thoughts, must be hentai types. So ws not too eager. It took me some time to really seriously finished volume 1. This is my two cents on this manga. The first part was eye-gluing (if there's a word like that). Although the art is not too flashy, i mean it can't be compared to some mangas art. I agree with other reviewers. The drawing style is sort of childlike. But i won't dwell on that. It's the plot that took me away. Sci-FI is a genre that interest me so much. Elfen Lied has that allure. The manga starts with an introduction of a secret facility. The catch is this facility hides something monstrous - a mutant. A human species higher than the homo sapiens category. The interesting part is the guarded specimen is a girl - a cute innocent looking girl. What makes this girl a mutant is she got some non-human abilities. The cause if this - you sbould read about. Pick your BRAIN. Anyways, some sort of accident happened and girl got out of the facility. What happens next is all gory. Oh Yeah there's some embarrassing parts as well. BOO. NUDITY. ELFEN LIED is quite a thought provoking manga. Why do i said so, it presents some issues like government conspiracies & the ambiguity & paradox of human mind and intentions. Who knows whats the government is doing - experimenting behind the public's eye. And indeed sometimes not all good intended acts are right and produced good results. 2.75 stars. I think volume 1 was too short but still hooked me. And the special chapter included made me raised my eyebrows. Whats with that part. Didn't get it. Minus that, all is well. END.

So, I've watched the anime a long time ago, hence I knew what to expect. I found this to be refreshing and interesting, even though I am not really fond of the art style.

This review is for the entire series. Synopsis: Lucy is a special breed of human referred to as Diclonius, born with a short pair of horns and invisible telekinetic hands that lands her as a victim of inhumane scientific experimentation by the government. However, once circumstances present her an opportunity to escape, Lucy, corrupted by the confinement and torture, unleashes a torrent of bloodshed as she escapes her captors. During her breakout, she receives a crippling head injury that leaves her with a split personality: someone with the mentality of a harmless child possessing limited speech capacity. In this state of instability, she stumbles upon two college students, Kouta and his cousin Yuka, who unknowingly take an injured fugitive into their care, unaware of her murderous tendencies. This act of kindness will change their lives, as they soon find themselves dragged into the shadowy world of government secrecy and conspiracy. Review: A horrifically violent, gruesomely sexualized, shocking and depressing series that's further intensified by the horrific acts done to a group of young girls. The things we are forced to watch happen to them is sickening, which makes their bloody vengeance and murderous rampages almost justified, if it wasn't for the ridiculously high body count of innocent civilians and bystanders. Everyone in this series is an extreme sadist, the type of people that would beat a puppy to death with a glass vase just to spite another person. I admit, the shock value can get tiresome and pointless in certain instances, but from the standpoint of a horror flick, it can be entertaining to see just how much you are able to endure. Reminiscent of old-school slasher movies with excessive splatter and gore. Shock value for the sake of shock value. It can get redundant, but it can also be entertaining if you're looking for simpler entertainment. There are plenty of flaws in the series as well as very awkward and misplaced moments that drag down the overall serious tone, but it's something I feel happy having experienced. It's a great example of exploring the minds of very tragic and emotionally broken characters. These instances of incredibly sad, memorable and heart-wrenching moments are the saving grace of the series. *** My Social Media My YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPPs... This manga is a mix of comedy, cuteness, gore and drama, and if it doesn't have one of the best stories I've ever got involved in, it's characters would make up for it. Story- Is a evangelical sci fi twist. Read it long enough and you'll be caught up in it. This is Definately a seinen manga with alot of nudity and many sex references, despite that it doesn't get in the way of the main story, and you won't think that it's just about girls being nude. There are a lot of flashback chapters, but they don't dissapoint like in other mangas, as they dive into read more

Die Story ist am Anfang zwar etwas konfus und man durchblickt so gut wie gar nichts, aber immerhin ist es so spannend und interessant, dass man durchaus am Ende von Band 1 wissen möchte, wie es weitergeht.

Elfen

The whole series is just a bunch of unnecessary sexualized stuff. The gore and story is okay, but I don't need to see panty shots and boobs of 5 year old girls. Also, the dialogues are awkward as f*ck and the main character Kotu is just building his own harem with mutant girls and his own cousin, who's trynna f*ck him.

Elfen Lied is an amazing manga series. It is extremely gory and contains a plethora of nudity, plus, it contains many instances of hardcore, psychological horror and mind games, but it is an astounding manga. As can be concluded, this is most certainly not for kids. However, the story is very profound and well-told. There is also great amounts of character development, for the better. Each and every character is very interesting. Furthermore, the art starts off okay, but as the series progresses, the art becomes much better. To me, each and every chapter was worth reading and is great. (I honestly almost cried by the end of the series; the ending was very sad.) Do not be fooled by the cute art style or the cute cover! There are dead bodies and blood galore in this manga series. Nonetheless, if you do not mind large amounts of gore/violence and nudity, and are looking for a great sci-fi horror manga series, then this is definitely recommended. Mind you, the anime is very good, too, but it ends about halfway through where the manga series was, so it is an incomplete adaptation.

The

I think the anime and the manga are quite the same, a little more graphic in the manga, but is really decent compared, this first volume is half the anime so there's more material in here to make more but they didn't, that's why i'm definitely going to read the next 12 volumes it was great, but this isn't for teenagers if for adults, it has nudity and gore so much blood and nasty
