High schooler Nanami Momozono has quite a few problems of late, beginning with her absentee father being in such extreme debt that they lose everything. Downtrodden and homeless, she runs into a man being harassed by a dog. After helping him, she explains her situation, and to her surprise, he offers her his home in gratitude. But when she discovers that said home is a rundown shrine, she tries to leave; however, she is caught by two shrine spirits and a fox familiar named Tomoe. They mistake her for the man Nanami rescued—the land god of the shrine, Mikage. Realizing that Mikage must have sent her there as a replacement god, Tomoe leaves abruptly, refusing to serve a human.
Rather than going back to being homeless, Nanami immerses herself in her divine duties. But if she must keep things running smoothly, she will need the help of a certain hot-headed fox. In her fumbling attempt to seek out Tomoe, she lands in trouble and ends up sealing a contract with him. Now the two must traverse the path of godhood together as god and familiar; but it will not be easy, for new threats arise in the form of a youkai who wants to devour the girl, a snake that wants to marry her, and Nanami's own unexpected feelings for her new familiar.

The Would Be Doctor Teetan Jaeger — Kamisama Kiss Season 2 Cast Announcement
A very cute love story, it brings drama along with comedy and romance very easy and it's so easy to love the characters!
I keep coming back every year to rewatch! i also love rewatching it when i feel sad because it makes me happy, it's sort of a bad boy falls in love with girl and there's other boys involved in a sort of romance way but the main character is actually likeable, most of the time my problem with animes like this is that the main character is always either unbearable or very basic with a vanilla personality which is not the case ... here, i think anyone who enjoys romance anime will love this as much as i do! and will love the characters! not to mention the songs! they're definetly on my playlist for life <3
I honestly expected a lot more from this one. Aside from a chuckle here or there, the jokes fell completely flat. The humor was barely palatable and was for the most part unrefined and obnoxious. Actually, obnoxious is the perfect descriptor for Kamisama Kiss, the first word that springs to mind if asked to describe the series. The romance, if you could even call it that, was contrived and was as tropey as they come. Absolutely nothing in this series felt original.

What can I say nice about ... this series?.. The art was nice I guess, although nothing special for the era. The OST fit the mood pretty well. But seriously, nothing about this show was well written.
This was one of the very first girl anime I watched when I was young. There was something about Kamisama Hajimemashita that really charmed me...However, after rewatching it, I really want to slam my head into a wall for thinking so fondly about this piece of trash for so long.
The concept is neat, I like most of the character designs and I enjoy the potential this has...but I cannot put up Nanami. I HATE THIS FUCKING CHARACTER.
Kamisama Kiss: The God Will Be Happy (2016)
Her romance with Tomoe is so unenjoyable. They're always bickering about literally nothing or Nanami will act like a complete DUMBASS by ignoring her role as a deity and ... trusting everyone way too easily. In general the romantic moments are just so....boring. Why? Because on top of being useless, Nanami is also incredibly generic and a self insert slab for the audience! Yippee! I love listening to a annoying, shallow character go on and on about how she's got the doki dokis for a hot guy she barely has any chemistry with! I don't enjoy seeing her be so stubborn and putting herself in danger, sometimes ON PURPOSE to make Tomoe mad or so that there can be a stupid scene where her trio of simps come in to save her from whatever stupid shit she got herself involved with this episode. There are good things, such as all the scenes that don't focus on Nanami, but it's not enough. She's a terrible protagonist and she actively ruins any scene she's in.
