He is very tall, has an average build, and is slightly overweight. His hair is kept neatly combed. He has black hair and brown eyes. Uda is shown to wear a vacation shirt in the manga, but in the anime he wears a jacket. When they briefly abduct Shirou Kuramori, he is seen wearing a leather jacket and sunglasses and has his hair slicked back. Jaw temporarily shapes his chin into three large prongs in order to change his facial appearance.
Uda is typically a peaceful, easygoing man. He gets nervous under pressure and cries easily. He is never shown to be negative or angry. He is very talkative and is usually seen smiling.

He has shown to be an understanding character, as he was willing to kill the parasite that infected Shinichi's mother, wanting to spare him the burden of killing her.
Joe & Uda By Jeffersonls
Uda's wife left him one year after their marriage. Uda contemplated suicide by jumping off a cliff, but could not bring himself to do it. Jaw attacked him and he became frightened and backed up off the cliff into the ocean. Jaw originally followed his instinct to take over the brain, but realized as they were sinking that if Uda drowned, he would die as well. He then abandoned his plan to take over the brain and instead took over Uda's jaw in order to save Uda and therefore himself.
Uda is first seen and mistaken by Shinichi as the parasite that took over his mother's body. This is quickly cleared up as Migi informs Shinichi of Uda's situation, and as Jaw, who is currently known as Parasite, makes his appearance. Uda and Shinichi soon become friends and bond over each other's recent tragedies. Uda decides to help avenge Shinichi's mother's death. Back in the city, Uda and Parasite make contact with the enemy parasite and inform Shinichi that they're going to a different location.
Now in the woods, Uda and Parasite try to come up with a plan. Due to Uda being overweight, he quickly becomes tired and goes with the plan of standing their ground. Bringing the fight to a cliff, the parasite catches up with them and begins combat. Though holding their own in the beginning, the awkward position in which Parasite is located in his body soon left them at a disadvantage. The parasite then proceeds to stab Uda in the chest, causing him to fall off the cliff.

As Shinichi is taken aback during his fight with his mother, Uda and Parasite (Jaw) decapitate the parasite. As Uda climbs back up the cliff, Parasite (Jaw) reveals that by shifting the position of Uda's internal organs, he managed to prevent lethal damage. Uda then tells Shinichi that even though it was his mother, he doesn't think he should be the one to finish her off. Uda and Shinichi then say their goodbyes and say that they'll keep in touch.
After the hair pulling trend becomes popular, Uda is seen having his hair pulled by his employer to make sure he wasn't a parasite. After his boss leaves, Parasite comes out and warns Uda that he needs to be more cautious than ever.
Later, after Kuramori is discovered by Shinichi and Migi to be stalking them, they contact Uda to help them capture and talk to him. Uda tells them that due to the increasing presence of parasite news in the media they decided to change his parasite's name to Jaw.
Parasyte The Maxim Vol. 2 Blu Ray
Other than the parasite attached to him, Uda is a normal, if slightly overweight, human being. He loses stamina quickly when running and in a fight, partly due to his body and partly due to Jaw's position in his body. Despite this, Jaw is able to shift his internal organs around somewhat to avoid what would otherwise be a fatal blow.. As it turns out, Shinichi discovers he’s not alone in this crazy world: Uda Mamoru, a cry-baby but moral fellow, is also in an alliance of sorts with a parasyte.

Uda’s situation is a bit different from Shinichi’s, in that he lives in a rural area and hasn’t run into any other parasytes yet. On top of that, his parasyte (simply called Parasyte — it didn’t want a name) comes off as generally more up-beat than Migi. Maybe even ‘nice?’
. Sure, he probably would have died if he’d tried to just eat Uda’s brain, but that thought process, and Uda’s love of movies over books, has lead to a quirkier, less edgy relationship.

Uda and Shinichi quickly become friends and Uda promises to warn Shinichi over the phone if he encounters another parasyte, which happens about 5 seconds later and then there’s a show down with Shinichi’s Not-Mom on a cliff.
Unfortunately, Migi has just fallen asleep and Uda is stabbed through the heart very quickly. So Shinichi has to go it alone… albeit with a sword-hand Migi left him at the last minute.

In simple terms, Shinichi wipes the floor with Not-Mom. While he has a moment of pause when she shields herself with her brun-arm, Sinichi’s new speed and reflexes let him see how simplistic not mom really is.
Parasyte: The Maxim
In fact, the hybrid’s appear to be smarter than pure-parasytes in general. Uda survives because Parasyte understood Not-Mom’s attack pattern and moved his heart elsewhere. Uda even lands the
Soon there after, Shinichi is reunited with his dad, has a nice moment where they sort of indirectly come to understand each other, and Mikako gets totally left behind because… wait why was she introduced as a character in the first place?
So it was a good episode but I can’t figure out how it deserves anything higher than an 8? Honestly, between the multi-character voice overs, the DBZ style ‘flurry of fists’ fight animation, and the completely obvious and predictable outcome of all this build up, none of episode 7 was notable.

Migi And Shinichi (after)
Sure, Shinichi finally got to be mister bad ass and Udo/Parasyte were a cute duo, but I’m scratching my head over Mikako and Not-Mom. I was waiting for some twist to happen with the first, and bewildered why the later was still hanging around this remote town AFTER she’d already gone to
Maybe we’ll get some answers later on but I don’t get the feeling we’ll see Udo or Mikako again, which just made the last 3 episodes feel like a fetch quest style ‘whatever’ side mission.

The man continues to follow him even though Ryouko already ended his assignment. Izumi seeks the help of Uda and his parasite “Jaw/Joe” to find the identity of his stalker and they eventually catch him afterwards. Izumi shares his whole story to the guy as he asks him to stay quiet about his secret. However, the man tells him and Uda to do everything they can for the sake of humanity even if it means they will be sacrificed as lab rats. That instance, Migi and Jaw emerge from their hosts and try to kill the investigator. They are both stopped by Izumi and Uda but Migi continues to threaten the guy, informing him that his client might be a parasite too if his hunch is correct.
What Does The Ending Of Parasyte Mean?
That night, Izumi gets a phone call from Ryouko and she asks him to meet her at a university building where she is taking lectures about animals and genes. After the class, she goes to meet Izumi at the rooftop, carrying her baby with her. She immediately senses that something has changed with him, and based on his reaction, she figures out that it might have something to do with his missing mom. She laughs maniacally at Izumi who is enraged and ready to strike her. However, she raises her baby in front of her, telling him that she is going to use the infant as her shield if ever they will engage in a battle.

Izumi furiously dashes out of the university, vowing that he can never forgive Ryouko. As he stops for a while to catch his breath, a fortune teller calls out to him and asks him to show his hand. Izumi follows her, but he extends his left hand instead. The woman accurately depicts the hole in his heart, and she instructs him to meet the person who opened that hole. She tells him to talk it over to that person to bring closure to his suffering, since that person is the only one who can seal that hole in his heart. However, as Izumi remembers his “mom”, a wicked smile forms on his lips, and he viciously tells the terrified fortune teller that he already
