Because This Is My First Live is the story about a young man and a young woman who end up falling in love after living together. Nam Se Hee is a single man that decided to not marry. He bought his own house, but the payment will be over in 30 years. Because of that he rent the other room. He will live in that house only with his cat. The house is few minutes away from a hospital, in case he will need medical help when he will be old. One day a misunderstanding happened and Yoon Ji Ho ends up renting Se Hee’s room. She is a single woman, who never dated. She doesn’t have a house and she isn’t successful. After being kicked out of her house, because of financial struggles, Ji Ho becomes Se Hee’s housemate.
Birthday. But home a huge surprise was waiting for her. Ji Ho’s brother got his girlfriend pregnant and got married in the time Ji Ho was working hard to financially support him. Even if Ji Ho was the one working and helping her parents buy the house she and her brother lived in, the house was put under Ji Seok’s name. Ji Ho has to move out of her own house.
Upset, Ji Ho went out with her friends. They encouraged her to argue with her father because she is the one that paid for everything for that house the last 5 years and even helped getting the house with her first pay check. Ji Ho goes home to her patriarchal family, where she never was important in her father’s eyes because she was a girl, and tries to defend her rights. But Ji Seok’s wife didn’t let her. She told her father-in-law that the child she is pregnant with his a boy.

The only person that understands Ji Ho and knows how she feels is Ji Ho’s mother. She gave Ji Ho some seaweed soup for her birthday and some money to use as a deposit now that she needs to move out of her house. Unfortunately it was a small amount of money and Ji Ho can’t get a loan either. The only room she could afford with the money she had was a basement room, filled with mould and air you couldn’t breathe. Of course there were no windows there. The other places she visited were either leaking, way too small or in danger of falling any minute.
Meantime Nam Se Hee kicked out of his house the housemate he had. They had a contract and Se Hee called the police on his roommate when the roommate came drunk at the house, ate from his cat imported bowl, peed his refrigerator and knocked the door loud. Because now he doesn’t have a roommate, Se Hee can’t work overtime. He needs to be home to feed his cat and recycle…it’s his life’s algorithm and the company can’t ruin it. That was Se Hee’s condition to accept the job.
Ji Ho received a phone call from her friend, Ho Rang. Her boyfriend has a superior that is looking for a roommate. Thinking that Nam Se Hee is a woman, Ji Ho accepted immediately. Ji Ho received a photo with her new roommate, but it was a group photo and she thought that the girl in the photo is her roommate. Se Hee on the other hand is working overtime. He looked online for Yoon Ji Ho and found the picture of a young man. Se Hee also believes that his new roommate is a man. Arriving home really late when Ji Ho was already sleeping, Se Hee found a note in which Ji Ho was telling him that she did everything Se Hee asked her too on the contract.

Se Hee seemed to like his new roommate. He had to leave early for work and left Ji Ho a message to sign the contract at lunch time. Ji Ho accepted and went to Se Hee’s company. She didn’t want to go with empty hands so she brought sandwiches for everyone. But when she arrived in the lobby, Ji Ho saw Bo Mi, the one she believes to be her roommate. Bo Mi was on her way to get the sandwiches that the department ordered for lunch. She thought Ji Ho was the delivery person. Because of those misunderstanding Ji Ho and Se Hee couldn’t meet face-to-face…even if they bumped into each other without knowing.
Se Hee’s department finished a job they had to. After working for weeks overtime, they went out to celebrate. At the same restaurant Ji Ho was celebrating with her team the end of the drama she worked for the last three months. At that celebration is also the man Ji Ho likes. When she thought he was going to confess, Ji Ho got scared and went outside for get some air. Outside she met Se Hee who was watching Arsenal’s game. Both of them are Arsenal’s fans. They watch the game together and start talking like they know each other for a while. They even talk about the man Ji Ho likes…when suddenly they see that man with his girlfriend.
As if Ji Ho inst enough embarrassed for telling a stranger that she wants to confess to man that has a girlfriend, they also meet at the bus station. To make Ji Ho feel less embarrassed, Se Hee tells her that he has two places to spend his time, his house or his apartment so they won’t meet again for her to feel embarrassed.
