Ma Dong Chan (Ji Chang Wook) is surprised when Mi Ran’s phone calls him. Knowing it can’t be but hoping anyhow, Dong Chan answers. It’s Mi Ran’s brother Nam Tae. He informs Dong Chan that his sister made his contact name “my love”. Dong Chan gets choked up. Mi Ran’s mother enters her daughter’s room and realizes that Nam Tae has her phone. She apologizes to Dong Chan for the call and hangs up.
Flashback…On their last night overlooking the city, Go Mi Ran (Won Jin Ah) changes Dong Chan’s contact name but won’t tell him what she changed it to.

Dong Chan and Ha Young meet in the lobby. As promised, they meet as friends. Dong Chan confirms he’s refused CEO Kim’s job. Ha Young says that the other frozen subjects were woken successfully must mean Mi Ran can wake up soon too. She urges him to believe that Mi Ran will come back.
Dong Chan tells Mi Ran’s parents the good news. He says they’ll wake Mi Ran up but she’ll have to survive surgery while at a lower body temperature. Mi Ran’s parents know the other frozen subjects took 1 week to return to a normal body temperature. But the clinical trial will shorten that to 1 day and stress her body. Dong Chan declares Mi Ran will choose to overcome and survive.
They gather at the lab. Doctor Hwang says they are ready to give her the shot and the OR team is ready. They hope Mi Ran can take the accelerated body temperature increase.

Mi Ran’s mother packs Dong Chan’s suitcase saying they can’t hold onto him any longer. She tells her husband Mi Ran sacrificed for him. Dong Chan arrives, upset to see his suitcase packed. He tells them not to kick him out. He says he’ll return to the hospital after they eat. Dong Chan sits alone in the room and tries to keep it together. He dreams Mi Ran tells him her temperature is rising. He calls Doctor Hwang and asks him to join him at the hospital. Dong Chan drives to the hospital.
Doctor Hwang and Mi Ran’s doctor see that her temperature is normal! Doctor Hwang gives Dong Chan the good news. Mi Ran sleeps and heals.

It’s Christmas and Dong Chan is out on a shoot on Jeju island. Mi Ran’s parents get the call from the hospital with the best news ever…Mi Ran has woken.
Dong Chan calls Mi Ran’s mother as he takes a taxi to the hospital. She confirms Mi Ran is awake, talking and smiling. Dong Chan says he’ll talk to her in person soon.
Dong Chan finds Mi Ran sitting outside in the snow. She sees him. He sees her. She stands and turns to him. He walks toward her. She walks toward him. They can’t take their eyes off each other. Dong Chan and his family are surprised when she defers marriage until she trains abroad. Dong Chan can’t believe it. He waited 3 years for her. But Mi Ran is serious that she wants to study. She says it might be 5 years. Dong Chan is not happy. Dong Chan’s mother suggests that Dong Chan go with Mi Ran. Dong Chan claims he’s too busy. She suggests Mi Ran and Dong Chan get married and have a child before Mi Ran studies abroad. That is roundly rejected.
After driving Mi Ran home, Dong Chan gives her the diaries he wrote in during her sleep. He says he believes in fate and everything will work out as it should. Mi Ran exits the car.
